👀 IAN’S BIG DAY 👀
We were beaming with pride this morning as Ian led his first Rambler’s Wellbeing Walk through the sun kissed paths of Barrow Park.
Ian began his walking journey after using it as a way to improve his mental and physical health. Through participating in the walking festival in summer he became involved with the team at Travel Actively Barrow joining their mission to make walking accessible for everyone. Through the programme Ian trained as a walk leader and has gone on not only to lead walks but also volunteer at numerous events such as litter picking and Parkrun. He is a super star ⭐
The Active Cumbria team were on hand this morning to capture his first walk and his story, keep an eye out on this page to hear his story in his own words soon.
Our project relies on dedicated volunteers like Ian to help bring the community together and raise awareness of the benefits of travelling actively. If you would like to get involved drop us a message.
Ian McClellan- congratulations seems to not even touch the sides, what an incredible story and an absolute pleasure to be working with you. Here’s to many more walks 🚶

I did my first #WellbeingWalk this morning and it went really well.
I was overwhelmed by some lovely people trusting me to take them around Barrow Park, and we all went for a relaxing coffee afterwards.
Same again in two weeks time; but no camera crew on the next walk!
