#Whooper swan one of several at Hogganfield Loch in Glasgow. Lots of whooping communication within small families. This loch is a wonderful urban delight. So many birds up close to enjoy. Loved the ‘cheek’ of this one as I took their photo. 🤍💛🖤

This turlough, near Gort in Co. Galway, is a favourite for Whooper Swans.There were 24 in all (not all pictured) as well as dozens of wigeon. Alas, I forgot the external microphone for my camera, so just got wind noise rather than wonderful whooping calls of the swans. #whooper #swan #wigeon #duck
On the way to the coast, we called in at WWT Welney. There was a handful of Whooper Swan from the main hide. They were very near the hide so we could see the yellow bill markings.
