The Royal Hotel in Bideford has a unique first floor doorway onto the platform of the former rail station for the ultimate convenience of long-departed passengers. The station & line (the 'Withered Arm' of the LSWR) closed in the mid-1960s - yet the platforms, signals and hotel entrance remain.
