Night time, odd, wirey-furred lemur with large yellow eyes, pointy face and large ears mid-way stretched between two trees, looking back towards the camera. Huge long fluffy black tail dangles.
This might be one of my favourite creatures on earth: the aye-aye or long-fingered lemur. They're nocturnal and unfortunately under threat due to habitat loss and some locals killing them due to believing they're harbingers of evil. #addMam #Madagascar

A tiny #mouse, possibly a Western harvest mouse, scampered away from me on the hiking trail at Belcarra, #britishcolumbia and tried to hide under a large maple leaf. Eventually it decided it was safe to come out and took off into the woods.

A young black rhino came over to our safari vehicle for a gentle stroke from some very surprised students. A wildlife officer was present for safety - both of students and of the critically endangered young rhino. Immensely powerful, fellow mammal.
Juvenile black rhino coming over to say hello - once in a lifetime moment for my very fortunate students. On Mkomazi NP, #tanzania. This is where Tanzaniaβs fragile but successful black rhino recovery is centered.
