Six freshly baked bagels, sitting on a cooling rack, on my outside table. It's a sunny day and the bagels are practically glowing. They are beautifully bronzed; they're also sprinkled with poppy seeds, white sesame seed and a bit of sea salt flakes. It would be fun to be able to give four of them away, but not exactly a punishment if I have to take them home again and eat them all.

Bageltime!

I'll take a second walk of the day soon, and take four bagels with me.

If other villagers are out and about, I'll hand out bagels till I run out - but I don't expect a crowd.

Until it gets warm again, there may be one, maybe two, others taking the air.

We'll see.
