This enamel painting technique is done by suspending extremely fine powdered glass in a medium to create a very slightly gritty paint like substance. After “painting” (I use a metal spike such as a needle as much as tiny brushes) the medium is then smoked away, and the remaining glass is melted/fused in a kiln. This is done in multiple layers to build up the final image. This piece was painted and fired more than 25 times.
