Haven’t been a tourist in my own city for ages.
Designed in the 1970s and opened in 1983, the glass reflects the surrounding trees, while allowing as much light as possible into the building itself.

An oak bedhead with carved, painted and gilded decoration. The central panel has an inscription describing Henry as King of England and France, Lord of Ireland, and Head of the Church of England, and the date ‘1539’. The left-hand panel bears the Royal motto ‘DIEU ET MON DROIT’ (‘God and my Right’); the right-hand panel the ‘AH’ monogram for Anne and Henry.

Embroidered panel for a bed headcloth in crimson red linen and wool mockado woven with linen warps and wefts and wool pile, decorated with black silk solid cut pile velvet appliqué motifs embroidered in yellow silk thread and cords worked in straight, fly and couched filing stitches, French knots and couching in an arabesque design depicting flowers, including aquilegia, carnations, daffodils and roses. Plain crimson red wool velvet or mockado panel below. Embroidered and plain panels mounted on larger linen panel with narrow border along top and deeper border along bottom.
