A marker drawing of a non-specific carrion beetle. An implied skull is incorporated into the beetle's elytra and thorax. Contoured lines and stippling techniques were used, though the drawing is very simple overall. Colours are very limited, mostly black Sharpie, but there are also brown to pale yellow vein-like branches jutting out from underneath the beetle.

I think this is a Black Sexton Beetle (Nicrophorus humator). It was mingling with the other visitors to the moth trap last night. Lots of mites hitching a ride too!
