And we're off to Arnhem for #ClogLard 2026. Last preps for a game of Strength & Honour done. Everybody travelling today good luck and hope to see you at dinner! #SpreadtheLard
#ClogLard is a wonderful excuse to gawk at Bas de Rue's painting skills with these 18mm AB Figures French Hussars. This year he is back in 1806 hosting Rüchel's counterattack at Jena.
Very useful test, but luck of the British exceeded that of the Teutons. King Tiger was too little too late. Scenario seems pretty settled #cloglard #spreadthelard #chainofcommand
More testing for #ClogLard today. No more stand-in buildings, but there’s still a lot to do before take off in two weeks. #wargaming #spreadthelard
The shirts for #ClogLard are ready and tested! Watch our professional models show off the black polo (L) and dark blue (L) and light blue (M) t-shirts. Available for order in your preferred size from tomorrow, so watch your email if you're interested #spreadthelard
Printers are whirring, fingers are covered in glue, grout, and paint. Clog Lard must be in the offing! #cloglard #wargaming #spreadthelard
I am so excited to see more #ClogLard content.
Lots of stand-ins, but it’s time for a new test for our #ClogLard scenario. As usual impossible to do without the help of @sabotag3d.bsky.social and @tabletopstudios.bsky.social #spreadthelard #wargaming
Thank you Steve, I will take it to #ClogLard next.
So what is everyone preparing for #ClogLard? This year I will only join as a player and therefore don’t have the urgency to finish a project. Currently working on this fellow.
Yeah, my recommendations after two editions of #ClogLard:
- many hands make light work
- having aforementioned many hands makes it slightly easier to take up the slack of a host dropping out
- but there's no real way to prepare @jurdj.bsky.social doubled up participants when one host had to cancel
And finally @clogfather.bsky.social put on the new probe scenario from Chain of Command v2 with a US Cavalry Reconnaisance platoon in the high summer of 1944 for #ClogLard. Germans try to put up a delaying action #SpreadtheLard
It was such a joy to be able to play the brand new Crivitz scenario at #Cloglard, especially with Bas's gorgeous AB Frenchmen. Crossing a marsh crossing turned out to be a right challenge, so the French needed Soult's cavalry flank march to win the game.
You can also subscribe to the Clog Lard feed on bluesky, that will give you all the post with the #ClogLard tag. I haven't been the only one posting
Eltjo and Bas put on General d'Armee for #ClogLard. Battle of Golberg 1806, a desperate Prussian rearguard against the French juggernaut. The battles seemed to go down to the wire on both sessions #SpreadtheLard
Apologies to Dick and Joop but I didn't get many pictures of their tables at #ClogLard (being busy myself). Dick put on a Sharp Practice scenario of Italians vs Austrians in 1809 and Joop hosted the Attack on Son in September 1944 for O Group #SpreadtheLard
Phil and Jenny Turner put on I Ain't Been Shot Mum for #ClogLard, with a great scenario of the fighting on the Westerbouwing on 20th September 1944 during Operation Market Garden. Stupidly, I didn't take a picture of Jenny's model of the restaurant. Maybe one of the players? #SpreadtheLard
Arjan hosted Dux Brittanniarum for #ClogLard, pitching Vikings vs Welsh in Gwenliann's Confession #SpreadtheLard
The Joe Bilton Golden Polyfilla Challenge Trophy
While @toofatlardies.bsky.social is slaving away at the next project, let's appreciate the wonderful table he built just last week for #ClogLard. West Prussia (IIRC) on the Baltic Balcony in early 1945. Deserved winner of the first Joe Bilton Golden Polyfilla Challenge Trophy #SpreadtheLard
Okay, so let's hear it for @julianweber.bsky.social who put on a great game of Chain of Command with a beautiful table and miniatures of Germans attacking a French trench in 1918 #ClogLard #SpreadtheLard
Happy to bump this post to the #ClogLard feed! I hope it got through customs without setting the dogs off
I had a great day yesterday at #ClogLard, hosting two games of #Midgard for 10 first time players. I may have converted a few. Duels were fought with great honour. The last battle resulted in both army commanders smiting each other and their armies breaking at the same time. Epic! #SpreadTheLard
Having done the usual last-minute painting to get my stuff done for #cloglard, I used the calm of the next morning to reorganize the pig-sty to about stable level.
Thanks so much to the hosts, participants and co-organizers! Too tired to evaluate, but I think we had a great day! #spreadthelard
Good to have you at the table James! And good to see you enjoy #ClogLard! Hope to see you again next year!
Had lots of fun at #cloglard yesterday. With an excellent introduction to Midgard lead by @jurdj.bsky.social and a WW1-themed Chain of Command game on @julian.weber.bsky.social‘s stunning table. Thanks to all the organisers.
Great to get acquainted with Midgard in 15mm. Both armies looked excellent. This ruleset should offer scope for a lot of (new) projects 😬
Thanks for hosting @jurdj.bsky.social
#cloglard
The 2nd #ClogLard game the Germans focused on the middle, with some luck they managed to get into the trench unharmed & also got a full CoC dice to pull forward a JOP. Now they got two Gruppen wreaking havoc while also advancing left & placing two trench blocks, winning the scenario #spreadthelard
In my first #ClogLard game the Germans focused on their left flank, holding some reserves back for the middle but then the Poilu got a triple phase early on and got into great position to defend and shot up the Boche. They managed to reach the 1st line but then were already too weak #spreadthelard
I enjoyed hosting very much, although I was very nervous at first. Two very different games, with French defenders winning in the morning and German attackers winning in the afternoon. #ClogLard
