We have a thing or two to learn from our Salish Sea friends...they don't respect the fake, colonial border. #Cascadia thank you @pugetsoundwhales.bsky.social for the beautiful photo. #CoastSalish #CascadiaBioregion

A colour photograph in portrait format. It shows a carded piece of wood on a cream coloured wall in a house. The piece measures about 7" x 10" (18cm x 25cm). It could be an abstract piece, but it reminds me of an animal, possibly a bear, in a frame. I am so lucky to own it, I feel blessed.
Hand-made Carved Wall art
This gorgeous hand-made piece was picked up at a charity shop and I love it. The name of the maker is written on the back, Tyrone Joseph, an indigenous Canadian artist who has been carving for 60 years. Great!

🐾 On this #NationalDogDay, we’re honouring Jumbo — one of the last Coast Salish woolly dogs, pictured here with Mary Adams in 1920.
Woolly dogs were highly prized by Coast Salish communities for their soft hair, which was used in sacred textiles.
