A single, fully opened salmon-orange rose emerges slightly left of center against a dark, softly blurred thicket of matte green leaves. The layered petals form a tight interior spiral that transitions from warm coral at the edges to deep red near the core, where a rounded, unopened bud is nestled. Serrated leaves, tinged with dusty silver and purplish speckles, reach toward the frame edges, their surfaces faintly mottled by early-morning dew. Diffuse overcast light mutes shadows, allowing the velvety petal texture and tiny water droplets along the lower lip to stand out in crisp relief.
Post-thunderstorm flowers are such a treat. Here's a coral rose saying good morning.
