What does it mean if a repo maintainer suddenly adds comments noting who contributed what, even though git tracks this already? They also make issues public, despite previously keeping them private, while older issues from others remain untouched or lack co-author credit. Thoughts? #RSE #deRSE

Apparently the word ‘bio’ doesn’t appear often enough in my CV for an RSE role. Never mind that I trained in biophysics, survived wet-lab work, and have mixed and dialysed DNA, prepared proteins.
Seems my CV needs more bio than my biology. There’s always something.

If a branch shows >100 files changed across >50 commits, it tells me the code lacks coherent architecture and is lost amid ad hoc demands. Adjusting tests after major code changes, without review, is bad. #TDD would have handled this better. #SoftwareEngineering #CodeQuality #Refactoring #deRSE
