A landscape photo of the autumn foliage covered rolling mountains of New England, in Central Vermont to be precise. Its a sunny day with a pale blue sky and cotton candy white clouds drifting by above. The mountains are mostly covered in deciduous and coniferous trees, with a few quilt-esque patches of grassy land cleared for farming on the closer hills in the middle ground of the scene, all separated by rows of trees akin to the landscapes you'd find in a British countryside. Small red and white houses and barns dot the landscape.

A vertically oriented photo with the main subject being sea glass green Lake Willoughby, with clear waters from the edge of the rust orange colored leaf strewn beach, out to the aqua depths beyond. The lake is tge middle ground, with tge beach and green grasses and brown stones as the foreground, and a rounded Appalachian mountain rising from the water's edge in the distance, covered with bright orange deciduous trees, ready to shed their leaves for Fall, and a stony grey straight sided cliff face rising in the middle of the edge of the mountain above the water line. Half the mountain side is shaded in stark contrast to the sunny sides of the slopes. Near the beach there is a small sailboat with white sides and a blue sail moored in the middle ground in the blue green water. The sky is a brilliant blue with a few stray white puffy clouds.

An orange lily growing outside, situated in the lower center of the frame of the vertically oriented photo, strongly illuminated by sunlight from slightly above and behind the lily, creating a glowing effect on the lily while most of the rest of the photo is in shadow. The lily and its stalk and a handful of lily buds are the only subjects of the photo in focus. The lower 1/4 of the photo is taken up by long, thick, green blades of grass laying haphazardly in a horizontal orientation over deep dark nooks and crannies, in shade and out of focus. Above this weaving of a bed of grass is a crowded family of indigo clematis flowers, centered but also framing the lily around the upper right portion of the photo. To the upper left, there is a bush of brighter green, still in shadow, but of a more brilliant shade than the grass below. The lily is the star of this show, but there is a solid support cast performing well!

As I went for a walk yesterday, the ground was literally steaming. The rapid change in temperature from snowing the day before to a few degrees above celsius created a really neat effect. it was hard to capture, but this one turned out.
