I agree, surely it is still mulled wine/cider season?
#DryJuly or #SoberOctober seem better options, but I have never successfully completed these (or in fact, actually started either of them…)
A screenshot of my 2024 Facebook post with a photo of a 2013 Instagram post showing a bottle of wine beside a mug of tea and where I comment on whether I should reward myself with a red or stick with herbal tea?
Ha! I still don't remember what I rewarded myself with after my first #DryJuly in 2013, but last night I did the same as I did in 2024, and stuck with tea! 🍵

A big THANKS to all who supported my #DryJuly fundraiser, through donations and words of encouragement. 🙏❤️

DryJuly.com "1 Sleep - Donate now!" image.
Whoa! 1 sleep left until August. That's 1 day left for me to raise $202 to achieve my #DryJuly fundraising target of $1000 to help people affected by #cancer. It's enough to drive me to drink ... a non-al beer or a cup of herbal tea for 1 more night (maybe more?). 🍵 www.dryjuly.com/users/robert...
A "2 Sleeps" and "Show your support and donate" image from Dry July.
Woohoo, only 2 more sleeps until the end of July. Thanks to a generous overnight donation from a friend on social media (proving not all social media is bad!), I've now raised $798 of my 2025 #DryJuly target of $1000 to help people affected by #cancer. 🙏 www.dryjuly.com/users/robert...
Graphic for a blog post titled “Why Sobriety Matters: Mental Health and Wellness in Cybersecurity.” The background features a scenic silhouette of mountain peaks against a glowing orange and pink sunrise sky. In the bottom left, there is a circular headshot of guest author Joan Goodchild with a text label that reads “Guest Author: Joan Goodchild” on a purple gradient banner. The Sober in Cyber logo appears in the bottom right corner.
Big thanks to Joan Goodchild for guest authoring this insightful blog post on the #SoberInCyber website!
Our poor lil blog had gotten dusty, and Joan is breathing some much-needed new life into it as we round out #DryJuly.
Check it out at www.soberincyber.org/post/why-sob...
We dropped by the 390 Academy @thesobrmarket location over the weekend 2 check out a cool new product they carry ;) & to pick up a few other must-haves (shout: @emptycupcollective ). Pls do the same! 0 alcohol, a taste for every palate!

Screenshot of my 2022 Facebook post with photos of my teas and non-alcoholic ales and a comment on how with 3 days to go of Dry July, including a weekend, as an extra incentive I'd increased my fundraising target to $1000.
Like 2022, with 3 days to go until the end of #DryJuly (but not another weekend, thankfully!), I'm stocked up with non-al ales and teas, and I've increased my fundraising target to $1000! I'm currently sitting on $698, but I'm crossing my fingers and staying dry! 🤞🚫🍺 www.dryjuly.com/users/robert...

Photo of my hand holding a can of Yeah Nah Non-Alcoholic Pale Ale, with three more cans in the background on the kitchen bench.
I've noticed bottle shops and pubs are running out of my usual non-alcoholic beverages, #HeapsNormal and #Guinness 0.0 Stout, towards the end of #DryJuly. So I was pleased to find #YeahNah last night, and yeah, I'll buy it again! 🚫 🍺 www.dryjuly.com/users/robert...

Last night's Swannies/Giants derby was a game of two halves, and watching the Swannies' second half capitulation at the Tudor Hotel in Redfern drove me to hit the bottle ... of #DryJuly water! ☹️🔴⚪️ #AFLSwansGiants #AFLGiantsSwans #SydneySwans #GoSwans www.dryjuly.com/users/robert...

Screenshot of my July 2020 Facebook post with a "1 week to go" Dry July image and my comment about my brother asking for tips on pushing through the final week. My response was: "Don't have a drink."
With only 1 week to go in #DryJuly, I'll be following the advice I gave my younger brother, Al, when he asked me in 2020, "Any tips on how to push through this final week?" My response was: "Yep, don't have a drink!" 🚫🍺😉 www.dryjuly.com/users/robert...
Screenshot of my timelines memories post from July 2015 where I comment I have two Friday nights to go in July. And urge myself to "stay strong, stay dry, feel better and hopefully raise a little more money for Dry July.
This 2015 post popped up in my timeline memories on Facebook this morning, and I thought, "Eek, two Friday nights to go!" But then I checked my calendar, and the 31st of July 2025 is Thursday week, so I've only got one Friday night of #DryJuly to go! 🚫🍺 www.dryjuly.com/users/robert...
I completed the piece of Tāniko I was working on.
I used it to create a Kōpae Tāniko. I'll be adding this to the prizes in my #dryjuly fundraiser. Every $20 gets your name in the draw to win. All proceeds go to those affected by cancer

A Facebook timeline memories post from 2018 with a photo of the Dry Dock Hotel in Balmain and my comment that it was tempting on a sunny winter day but that I'd hold off until after Dry July.
This timeline memories post reminds me I resisted the temptation on a sunny winter's day to duck into the Dry Dock Hotel in Balmain during #DryJuly in 2018. 🚫🍺

Screenshot from my Dry July page showing my profile pic, how much I've raised, my new target of $1000, and that I'm raising money for the Prince of Wales Hospital Foundation to help people affected by cancer.
Thanks to kind donations from family and friends, I've reached my initial fundraising target and raised $500 for #DryJuly. So what do I do next? Well, I stay dry for another 11 days ... and double my target to $1000! 😊 www.dryjuly.com/users/robert...
Screenshot of my Facebook post from 2020 where I "came out of the (untouched) drinks' cabinet" and announced I'd been doing Dry July for 21 days "on the sly"!
5 years ago I did "Sly July". In the middle of the pandemic and riven with my usual self-doubts, I didn't advertise that I'd been doing #DryJuly for 3 weeks! My 18-year-old son thought "Sly July" meant I'd been sneaking drinks on the sly! 😂 www.dryjuly.com/users/robert...
Photo of the SCG from my grandstand seat with Swans and North Melbourne players on the field and coffee cups in my hand in the foreground.
Cheer, cheered the #SydneySwans to victory last night at the SCG with a couple of #DryJuly coffees and a celebratory #Peroni 0.0 with friends after the siren! ❤️🤍 www.dryjuly.com/users/robert...
Screenshot of my 2013 post where I queried the Dry Times Week 3 tip by the Dry July Foundation to "Be productive and do your tax return." I suggested I might need a drink afterwards.
The Dry July Foundation has been brilliant in providing support and wonderful tips to help Dry Julyers over the years. However, Week 3's "do your tax return" may not have been their best tip in 2013! 😂 #dryjuly #fundraiser #cancer www.dryjuly.com/users/robert...

Screenshot of a 2021 Facebook post by my friend Terry with an image titled 'I may have found a loophole in this "Dry July" thing' showing bottles of various brands of "Dry" low carb beers, and my response with a link to the Heaps Normal website.
My friend Terry forwarded me a #DryJuly loophole tip in 2021. But as I responded, I prefer ales during July, #HeapsNormal non-al ales! 🍻 www.dryjuly.com/users/robert...

I've taken part in every #DryJuly since 2013 ... except for one year. And can you blame me? Lola's Pergola in Cullen Bay, #Darwin, was my favourite bar on a family Top End campervan trip in 2019. 😋🍺 www.dryjuly.com/users/robert...
