New bird species for our project investigating animal diversity in stands of #invasive #fallopia #knotweed: Eurasian Jay!

Pycnidia (?) on dead stems of the invasive #Fallopia japonica (Les Clayes-sous-Bois, FR). I thought of #Mycosphaerella polygoni-cuspidati or M. shimabarensis (Kurose et al., 2009), but asexual conidial stage has never been described so far... @FungusCrous, idea what it is? 🤔
