A close up photograph of a Trillium flower. The white flower pops against the green leafy background.
Everything about the Trillium is in groups of threes, petals and leaves.
Today it was raining so the leaves and petals are dotted with raindrops.
A small treed meadow, close to Nanaimo river. The ground is muddy in the path. Beside the path is bright green undergrowth that is dotted with a profusion of white flowers - curly lilies.
Brown earth and tree trunks dominate the foreground in this photo. The background is more about the deep bright green moss and the fresh green undergrowth.
In front of the brown trunk are two white Fawn Lilies standing tall on slender stems.
Early Spring on Vancouver Island means Fawn Lilies in the wild places. These are often called Curly Lilies.
These were found at the Cassidy Canyon swim hole. A few Trilliums are starting as well!
