Two versions of the same hat. 1) on the left, a classic Grey version with a simple 2x2 rib leading into the cables. 2) on the right, a very hot pink version of the same toque. The tree of life pattern starts at the cast on and moves to the crown. The x and o pattern is embellished with contrasting bobbles and 3 dimensional hearts 💕 in pink and white dangle from the crown.
It is #showmeyourcables week. This is one of my personal favourite hat patterns, Smitten. It features the x and o pattern paired with the classic tree of life.

My favourite view in all of Nanaimo. The point at Sunset Beach. I have admired this view for 35 years, watched the trees grow, had picnics on the rocks beneath the tree branches. We watched eagles and sea lions and the ocean roll in and out every day we spent there.
Sunrise 🌅 over the water. The light highlights Pipers Lagoon and drifts across the bay to the beach. An old pier, rotting back to the earth, points to the sun.
Glorious morning views at Neck Point a few days ago. Making up for a very soggy day.

EAR Flap hat 👒 edged in white #bobbles and patterned in red and green stripes. A quick knit with chunky yarn.
Two coloured Brioche stitch hat, with a cross styled crown finishing. The coloures are natural and peach. This was knit with 2 heavy worsted yarns and is totally reversible.
Golden toned wool knit into round heavy looking cables. Short beanie style,.with a minimal ribbing band.
Cashmere in 3 colours, soft raspberry, light Grey and dark grey, with silver beads overlaying the light Grey stripes and edging the bottom edge. The hat has been shaped to create a Vintage cloche styled hat. It is soft and very elegant.

The display form is showing a turquoise blue cowl. The bottom edge of the cowl has garter stitch and pivot details that moves into stockinette with a dropped st detail. Welting and a simple textured body make up the bulk of the cowl. It is finished with eyelets and I-cord.

The Funnel Cowl is a quick knit in a DK weight yarn. Pick something soft and warm as it sits close to your skin. This one was knit with a merino/yak blend from my stash.

A thick, warm cowl, double knit so that there are two versions. This is the "light side" where the background is lighter than the patterns. The colours are burgundy tones. The edges are created with openwork stitches.
Welcome to the dark side of the cowl. Beautiful in a different way.

Raspberry cloche with two shades of grey stripes. The light grey stripes are beaded for a suble shimmer. The cheeks are highlighted by chevron shaping in the stripes.
The chevron points frame the face beautifully.

6 feet square of knitty goodness! Purple lace center knit on the diagonal. Floral fair-isle frame. Purple and green Lace striping border. Pointy purple lace edging.

Early Spring on Vancouver Island means Fawn Lilies in the wild places. These are often called Curly Lilies.

A special gift for a special Grandson. A handmade bear (not made by me) needed a handmade vest. My grandson got a matching vest.

A little purple hat on a bunch of purple 💜 pansies. It is shaped like a Hershey Kisses candy. The top is finished with a knitted cord. The stitch pattern moves around the hat in a diagonal pattern. The pattern creates very well defined lines as the knitting is created.

Spare Squares, knit for the Buffalo Wool Co. Knit with their Tracks sock yarn, a 90/10 merino/bison blend. The main was undyed and the stripes of squares were minis. The strap is bison leather and buttons pewter buffalo.

This is the High Summer KAL shawl. It was knit with Ancient Arts Lascaux Fine. The lace body is separated from the edging by a double sided fair-isle band.
It is a 3/4 circular shawl.

Tea cozy knitting is my playtime. I let my imagination go wild and embellish to my heart is satisfied!

I was needing a little Spring 🌱 in my life so I created my own flower garden.

Wolf Song was knit with Custom Woolen Mill's Prairie Sea Fusion.
Fronts and backs of three pairs of socks. The socks are predominantly grey with stripes and patterns of greens and pinks. The toes are are all different as are the heels. The ribbing at the top is also different for each pair. The textured stitches really stand out in the grey yarn and the colourwork areas pop!
