Nubile woman with semiotic confetti drifting out of her hair, wearing stars-and-stripes tube top, miniskirt and go-go boots is walking a businessman on a leash. The poor wallah's face is a semiotic glyphoid made flesh, he wears a checked suit and loafers, probably a car salesman. They are strolling past a department store window displaying many TVs, each of their screens sports a disembodied human eye, all them watching Miss America. Minute mushrooms grow from the pavement's cracks. This was done for the Firesign Theatre's Magic Mushroom Plays CD, ADed by @sidfudd. The broadcast date was '67 (I think), hence the retro look. This was a good gig, only one dud picture in the lot and totally my fault, IMO. The ratio of humiliation to satisfaction was acceptable if you know what I mean. When it comes to art, you have to be hard on yourself or you'll never overcome your inner schweinehund.

Everything is real, nothing is permitted, suckers!

A gameshow host and hostess welcoming Contestant #3, who glimpses at us from behind a curtain short enough to reveal his lower tentacles. The host's microphone is a mushroom growing out of his shirt. Four semioticoids slither on the floor. This was set up as a tritone (black being the 3rd colour) but the brief was duotones. The latter format necessitated making the line art into 100% of the 2 colours, which was really an 80% rick black and Taylor and I thought it insufficient. The duotone thing was only an aesthetic constraint, not production, this effect being popular in 60s/70s North American print. Good duotones (and tritones) are ticklish things to tackle.

Amusing myself with vivid mental picture of Benvenuto Cellini dealing with suits trying to screw him with AI. Much rending of flesh and gnashing on thighs.
This picture has nothing to do with that, which amuses me even more.

Krishna sitting in the shade, holding his flute, caressing a calf. A baby elephant, langur monkey, peacock and chital deer lurk in the vegetation, attracted by the opportunity to hear the music of heaven. Cover for a kidlit book put out by Feral House (USA).

Intrepid jungle explorers (one of whom is a Minotaur) part the giant mushroom thickets to catch a glimpse of the legendary Armenian's Paw. Conceptual art is more talked about then practiced or perhaps the meaning of the phrase has evolved. Or devolved. Done for the Firesign Theatre's Magic Mushroom Plays CD/booklet, ADed by @taylorjessen.

Another page from WiP: unabridged graphic novelization of TWL. Lines 71 to 76: Stetson venerating the headless corpse growing in his garden, Stetson beating Dog with a bone whilst the Hooded Shades in the City of the Dead file past him, the Shades filing into Charon's boat to cross the Styx-Thames as the Dog runs free, finally, the Dog sees int's reflection in the river water, it is the Narrator. This project is looking for a home, preferably with a publisher who has a thing for bringing high-calibre titles to the academic/school market.
