Cobblestones vs Setts. These two types of traditional road surfaces are often confused, but they're easy to tell apart.

They're currently been worked on, so one of the basins is now empty of water, giving a change to see parts of them you'd never usually get to see. I bet there's some interesting stuff hidden in all that mud!

Not bad for someone in their fifties who'd never really done any long-distance running before starting this challenge!

My long run today took me up along the Forth and Clyde. Canal, where there's always an interesting sight or two to be had, but this morning's run was a bit of a special one for me.

It's great to see these polychromatic brick former industrial buildings on the Forth and Clyde Canal in the Ruchill area of Glasgow brought back into use in a very sympathetic way.

Created by artists Minty Donald, Neil McGuire and Nick Millar, it involved various attempts to pull a barge carrying 10 tons of timber using a variety of 'engines', including a heavy horse, artists, kayakers, pack of dogs and Scotland’s strongest man.

This an interesting little marker set into the stonework of the Forth and Clyde Canal opposite The Whisky Bond in the north of Glasgow. It's a reminder of a public art project called Displacement carried out there in July 2015.
