On old sticker on a lamp post at Glasgow Green. I have no idea why it is there, but this is a slogan which has, over the years, been used in a variety of forms to highlight the importance of education, reading and gaining knowledge.

Love this little sculpture on the Hugh MacDonald Memorial Drinking Fountain on Glasgow Green. I presume it's meant to be a lion's head, but it's quite anthropomorphic and always reminds me of Bert Lahr as the Cowardly Lion in the Wizard of Oz.

I hope none of the Santas taking part in today's Santa Dash at Glasgow Green had their sleighs impounded because they left them in the wrong place - if they did, it'll make their Christmas deliveries rather difficult!
The sign is the work of A Sign Of Humour.

A photo from a climate march on a city street. A man in a blue jacket is in the middle of the crowd, holding a white sign above his head that reads, 'FOR OUR CHILDREN'S FUTURES' with a drawing of the Earth. Other protestors surround him, holding green 'NO NEW FOSSIL FUELS' signs.
A close-up, outdoor selfie of two smiling men. On the left is Douglas Ireland, and on the right is Scottish Greens MSP Ross Greer. They are standing on a city street, with a tall, modern building and the steeple of a clock tower visible in the background under a blue sky.
A protestor at a climate march wearing a Donald Trump mask and holding a large, brown cardboard sign that reads, 'IT'S CAPITALISM YA EEJITS'. The person is standing in the street, surrounded by other marchers and city buildings.
A view from behind a large crowd of protestors at a climate march, standing on a grassy area. Many are holding green signs, including some that read 'NO NEW FOSSIL FUELS' and 'PEOPLE BEFORE PROFIT'. The crowd is outdoors under a bright blue sky with white clouds and large, bare winter trees.
Great energy at the climate march in Glasgow yesterday.
But marches are just the start. The real work is holding politicians' feet to the fire every single day. We need radical, systemic change, not just warm words and distant targets.

Lin and I took Hazel and Meg for a smashing walk through Glasgow Green and then down by the Clyde side this afternoon.
I’ve been trying to get out the house and push myself a bit more, and it fairly lifts the spirits. 🙂

As well as being an acomplished sculptor, for more than 40 years George worked for the Glasgow Humane Society (as his father did before him) and in that time he rescued more than 1,500 people from the same river.

Off to Glasgow Green for the climate march. It's a chilly one, but at least it's dry!
Hoping for a big turnout to help warm the place up. See you there?
