A nightshade family shrub to small tree, scent released at dusk to attract moth pollinators. Poisonous, if pretty, rich in alkaloids that are medicinal at small amounts - scopolamine, atropine, hyoscyamine, and others. Ingestion can include dry mouth or tachycardia onto paralysis, confusion, delusions, hallucinations, and even death. Cherished in Victorian death gardening.
