Lake effect snow showers will lead to new snowfall accumulations of 2 to 5 inches. Strong winds coming off Lake Superior will lead to blowing, drifting, and reduced visibility on roadways.

A Wind Advisory is in effect for the North Shore region of the Northland from 6 p.m. Tuesday, January 13, 2026, to 6 a.m. Wednesday, January 14. Wind gusts up to 45 mph are possible in this area, resulting in possible downed trees and power lines.

Wind gusts through Tuesday evening will gust up to 45 mph in spots. A Wind Advisory is also in effect for Carlton, Cook, Lake, and southern St. Louis counties from 5 p.m. Tuesday through 3 a.m. Wednesday. Wind gusts here will gust between 40 to 50 mph at times this evening and tonight. A few spots along the North Shore could see gusts between 50 to 60 mph.
