Winter weather alerts are in effect for the entire Northland for Wednesday night through Thursday night.  A Winter Storm Warning covers southern Cook and southern Lake counties for snowfall totals of up to 8 inches along with strong winds off Lake Superior. While the radar is picking up some possible snow and rain showers just to the west of the region, surface observations are not detecting any precipitation reaching the surface at this time.
