A Blizzard Warning continues for Ashland, Bayfield, Burnett, Douglas, Gogebic, Iron, Ontonagon, Pine, Sawyer, and Washburn counties through the afternoon hours of March 16, 2026. The highest snowfall will be in the South Shore Snowbelt region, where an additional 10 to 24 inches are likely. Snowfall totals will drop to 3 inches as you move west across northwest Wisconsin. Wind gusts will remain strong, reaching as high as 45 mph at times. That will keep road conditions very difficult for the next 24 hours.
A Winter Storm Warning will continue for Carlton and southern St. Louis counties through 10 p.m. Sunday, March 15, 2026. An additional 1 to 4 inches of snowfall is possible, aided by lake effect snow bands. Wind gusts will also be up to 35 mph. This will create difficult driving conditions at times.
A Winter Weather Advisory continues for Aitkin County through 7 p.m. Monday, March 16, 2026, and for southern Lake County through 7 p.m. Sunday, March 15, 2026. These areas will see an additional snowfall of up to 2 inches, but the bigger concern is wind gusts up to 40 mph that will create blowing and drifting on roadways, keeping them difficult to drive on at times.
A Wind Advisory is still in place for the North Shore region of the Northland from 7 p.m. Sunday, March 15, 2026, through 1 p.m. Monday, March 16, 2026. Northerly winds will gust up to and over 50 mph at times Sunday night and Monday morning. If wind gusts do reach and surpass 60 mph, the advisory will be upgraded to a High Wind Warning.
