Jars of fiber reactive dye open in the colors I use for a batch of my hand dyed thread “Mardi Gras”. Many different shades of purple, green, and gold are blended to make the resulting thread colors richer. I always wear a face mask 😷 when working with open dye powder to avoid breathing in the chemicals.

I've been experimenting a bit with natural dyes - this is indigo over a very pale yellow. The back braid is a bit lighter, on purpose. Will spin them separately and ply together.
