A superb vintage 1960s 70s handmade copper enamel abstract modernist brooch and earrings set by Hank Frugte of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Entirely handmade hand wrought copper enamel abstract design wearable art brooch and earrings set! Most likely a one of a kind set! Hank Frugte (d. 1990) and his wife Diny (1929-2024) were originally from the Netherlands, but emigrated to Canada just after WWII and settled in Edmonton, Alberta. They were already trained enamelists and artists who brought their talents and experience with them to Edmonton, and created amazing artworks throughout their careers! They also shared their knowledge and experience with other artists by teaching workshops and other educational endeavors in both Canada and the US. The brooch measures 2-3/8" tall by 1-5/8" wide. The earrings measure 1-1/8" by 3/4". Marked at back of the brooch as shown, "Hank Frugte Edmonton". There are some very small fleabites along the edges of the brooch and one of the earrings. These are not at all noticeable when worn, or really at all except with magnification. Excellent vintage condition.

A one of a kind set of vintage 1960s 70s handmade copper enamel lava red orange on black modernist pitcher with six goblets by Hank Frugte of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Entirely handmade hand wrought copper forms that have been lavishly enameled in super vivid 'lava' red and orange shading to black, and then to bare copper at bottoms as shown. Hank (d. They also shared their knowledge and experience with other artists in their area by teaching workshops and other educational endeavors. I've seen quite a few enameled plates and dishes and jewelry by them, but this is the only serving set that I've run across! The pitcher measures 11.5" tall by about 3.5" diameter. As you can see in the photos, the pitcher and the goblets are footed. The goblets are each unique and slightly different in height, but average about 4.5" tall by about 1.5" in diameter. Marked at bottom of the pitcher as shown, "Hank Frugte Edmonton". Overall excellent vintage condition with one of the goblets showing some unevenness at the rim which looks original to me but no damage or detractors whatsoever as shown.
