This is a very rare, Hohner-branded Acoustic Control Corporation "Acoustic" Black Widow electric guitar. It is a chambered, solid body guitar with a black finish. It was made in Japan; mostly likely by Aria for Hohner and Acoustic. The guitar is in excellent playing condition. The finish has normal wear, scratches, and a few nicks. The Black Widow is all original except the knobs may have been changed. Its hard to tell since we have not been able to find another Hohner-branded Black Widow. These guitars were made from 1968-1974 for Acoustic. Approximately 1200 were made with the last 200 being produced by Semie Moseley of Mosrite guitars. The guitar has a very fast, steel reinforced neck (and adjustable truss rod) with super-hot dual pickups with individually adjustable pole pieces, separate volume and tone controls for each pick-up, three-position pickup selector switch, precision gear-driven high ratio tuning keys (Grover Rotomatic tuners) and padded back. Beautifully finished in hand-rubbed black laquer with white binding. The guitar features an "Ebonite" fretboard. The Acoustic model number is AC 500 and originally sold for $450.
