The empty case reveals how much colour belonged to the inhabitant. The top section is mostly creamly opaque. The tail section is an ochre colour. It is split just below the main body section.

The head has now arched backwards to a point. The body poking upwards like a beer belly. You can see the body segments extending into the pointy tail. Moss green and cream striated patterns are forming.

The chrysalis is fastened to a stem of the host plant by means of a cremaster. A thin girdle of silk keeps the head end of the chrysalis uppermost during pupation.

Grasping the branch with its end legs and curling its black head in to form a c shape the final instar hangs from a fine thread if silk. The spiky green body is rounded and you can see the legs retracted into grey dots on its white belly.
