Went back for another try at #IC443 #TheJellyfishNebula. Looks like this is a good as I can capture it. Used the onboard Light Pollution filter as well as the Moon and Skylight Light filter. #seestar #S50 #space #astronomy #amateur

IC 443 The Jellyfish Nebula - unprocessed image with Moon and Sky Light Filter. Its explosion also created a pulsar (a rapidly spinning neutron star) near its edge. The pulsar blasts out a high-speed wind of particles!

🌌 So with clear skies last night spent some time looking at #IC443, the Jellyfish Nebula this gorgeous celestial remnant is the result of a massive star going supernova around 3,000 to 30,000 years ago. It's a cosmic fingerprint of violence and creation happening simultaneously.

False-color infrared image of supernova remnant IC 443. Blue shows expanding gas rich in iron, while red wisps depict shock-excited molecular hydrogen impacting a molecular cloud. This remnant from a star that exploded 8000 years ago reveals how supernovae affect star formation and accelerate particles to near light speed. A horizontal line across the image is an artifact.

Stunning telescopic image of the Jellyfish Nebula (IC 443), a supernova remnant, showcasing its red emission and "tentacles." Two bright stars, Mu and Eta Geminorum, are visible near the nebula, along with Mars, shining with a yellowish glow to the right. The image captures the beauty of this cosmic jellyfish and the vast expanse of space, with the nebula approximately 5,000 light-years away, and Mars currently about 18 light-minutes from Earth.

False-color composite image of IC 443, the Jellyfish Nebula, a supernova remnant glowing in radio (blue), optical (red), and X-ray (green) energies. An inset shows the neutron star's wake, revealing a misalignment suggesting an offset explosion or influence from fast-moving nebula gas. The nebula spans 65 light-years at a distance of 5,000 light-years from Earth.

A vivid SHO palette image of IC 443, the Jellyfish Nebula, processed using PixInsight. The intricate filaments of this supernova remnant glow with orange, teal, and deep blue hues. The improved processing reveals greater depth, contrast, and subtle structures within the nebula, showcasing its ghostly beauty against a dark starry background.

An SHO palette image of IC 443, the Jellyfish Nebula, processed using Affinity Photo. The nebula features glowing orange and teal filaments, but with less contrast and detail compared to the reprocessed version. A bright yellow star below the nebula adds a striking focal point amid the stars.
