Ermagerd, the software found some overlap between two DIC images in a Y2H figure, so I checked the negative controls to make sure they were not black boxes. Good news, they were not black boxes...bad news, all three were the same image! #ImageIntegrity

Based on our #ImageIntegrity work, this is absolutely true––running the AI scan is quick, but running it properly, evaluating the results, conferring with the academic editors, and corresponding with the authors takes a ton of work. Nevertheless worth doing––the stuff we have seen!

We (@planteditors.bsky.social) do #ImageIntegrity analysis for journal and author clients and this paper was 👀! Learned some new tricks and twists on old tricks for sure!

In case you were wondering, the authors replied to assure me that nothing is wrong in their image:
