My cats Jane The Magnificent and Tarzan the Maine Coon, taking a sunbath in some bright rays, on a plush dark brown bed spread with some blankets piled next to them. Tarzan is mostly upside down and extended fully and Jane is curled up right next to his shoulders, with her head back in a big ol screm, with her whiskers catching the light dramatically. Both cats are grey & chonky but Tarzan is a massive grey & white tuxedo superfloof, and Jane is a silver grey & cream orange tortoiseshell tabby. Jane’s fur reflects light and has a silvery outline due to her extra thick double undercoat, which makes her softer than cashmere to touch. This pic is a good example of what I mean when I say, “Jane reflects so much light at times she seems made of it”. This is one of those times. Jane’s entire head and whiskers are so lit she’s like a light bulb. Although the two are adorable and quite relaxed and cozy, something about the dappled light making their fur difficult to determine which cat is which, and their pose, which makes it seem almost as if Tarzan is morphed into Jane like some Lovecraftian horror such as The Thing, makes the image visually compelling. It’s a little blurry from motion.

Tarzan loves a good sun bath too. It’s really cold out though. Below freezing. Hope everyone is staying warm.
