“You didn’t have to come with me, you know.” Kunikida said, as if it didn’t matter, not glancing at Dazai for more than a mere second since his attention still had to be on the road. “Well, when have I missed a chance to spend time with my dear Kunikida-kun?” “More like, when have you missed a chance to slack off at work.” Dazai had barely finished talking when he replied with that, and a moment later both of thame shared an amused scoff. “Okay, you got me there.” Kunikida let out a brief, kind of dramatic groan when Dazai pinched his arm slightly. But he allowed the gesture. “Still, from all the things I could’ve chosen to do, I’m here spending time with you. That’s worth something, isn’t it?” It was, that for sure. Still, Kunikida had to at least pretend he still believed he could instill some good habits in Dazai… even when, in that regard, time and time again it had been proved how it seemed to be almost impossible. Anyway, if nothing else, he would have to try not to encourage such behavior.
Even when he was actually enjoying it, spending time with him like that. “It’ll be if you help me with the bags when we’re done shopping.” Kunikida replied, as if trying to negotiate. “Maybe.” “I’m going to need more than just a ‘maybe’, methinks.” Rolling his eyes more to make a point than due to feeling actually annoyed (that time, though), Kunikida made a brief stop, left a peck on Dazai’s lips, and made his way to park the car. “Like that?” He didn’t have to look to notice the smile all over Dazai’s face.

“Kunikida-kun?” Dazai asked, and his heart skipped a beat. “Huh?” He replied, as if Kunikida wasn’t really sure about what had prompted him to start what was undoubtedly coming, when it couldn’t be further from the truth. “What did you say?” Instead of, or it would be more accurate to say before actually offering a response, Kunikida buried his face in the crook of Dazai’s neck even more, waiting for the embarrassment to pass so he could managed to say it in a way that didn’t make him look like a total dumbass. Or, at least, that was how he felt. “I-- forgot to lock the door. And Aya-chan’s coming from karate practice in approximately half an hour. So…” So they should get moving, basically.
To be fair, the door being locked wouldn’t have done much, since the point was not giving her too much information-- not because the girl wouldn’t know they had been doing way more than just making out, but because she would. And since knowing was one thing, and having tangible proof another, Kunikida would rather save everyone from a very awkward moment. (Well, mainly himself. Aya may spit out a bunch of ‘eugh’s but she wouldn’t feel awkward, and Dazai might as well not feel embarrassment at all in most circumstances. But still.) “Alright-y! You’re gonna have to help me get up, though.” Though, before allowing him to move in order to stand up, Dazai first held him tighter for a little longer.

Are you staying, Dazai-san?” Kenji then said, as Aya hugged Bram goodbye and he proceeded to go giving his usual farewells. “There’s more than enough food for everyone, so it’s gonna be fine!” “Aw, that’s so sweet, Kenji-kun! But I–” Dazai didn’t get to finish the sentence, basically because Kunikida didn’t give him the chance.
