Plant de gourde en train de grimper sur du lierre. Se ramifie au moment de la rencontre avec le lierre, un peu en chandelier. Une glycine tubéreuse tente péniblement de monter sur la gourde.
La gourde 'Zucchetta serpente di Sicilia', version vosgienne.

White female flower of bottle gourd plant. Both male and female flowers grow on the same plant.
The female flowers have a bit smaller petals, but already before pollination they have tiny gourd-like bodies like in this pic. If the flower gets pollinated from a male flower blooming at the same time, the female flower grows into bottle gourd, if it doesn't get pollinated, it dies and falls off.
The first female flower! 😍 But there is no male blooming this time... Each flower is blooming just for a night (opening on evening and gone by midday the next day). That's quite a short window for pollitation.

Bottle gourd (lagenaria siceraria) plant vines tangled together. The biggest shoot has already found strong support and reached out its' vine to the smaller shoot still looking for a firm support. Truly admirable how strongly they are holding together.
