10 people who took their own lives because of the retrospective #LoanCharge would still be alive if politicians, such as Mel Stride, & civil servants from #HMRC were banned from lying. May be difficult to stop them when they claim they tell the "truth", but their truth is twisted beyond recognition.
Absolutely, the previous government also made a mockery of the ministerial code. Look at the current Shadow Chancellor, Mel Stride's behaviour in respect of the #LoanCharge.

Mel Stride has some front criticising Tulip Siddiq when he should have resigned years ago for pushing through the retrospective #LoanCharge legislation without hearing impact statements, misleading the House on the LC & refusing to appear before committees.

In England we have MPs on Twitter like Mel Stride, who was Financial Secretary to the Treasury, blocking anyone who mentioned his #LoanCharge retrospective tax policy. He even blocked journalists. His successor Nigel Huddleston turned off comments. Their policy caused 10 suicides & is still on-going
