Where does the path lead?
Yesterday, walking along the shore, we watched a muscular sea otter---as long as my arm, not counting her tail---spy on us, then disappear behind these rocks.
We did not follow. I am disappointed in myself---I think I failed a call to adventure.

A butterfly visited us today. It was black and almost iridescent green.
I would've said it was a Rajah Brooke Birdwing, because that is the only one I know offhand---but the shape of the markings and the cold, nearly blue tone of the green seem to match a Common Bluebottle?
