Built these three tide pools today.

Our favourite beach is very eroded; we've been piling rocks around the roots of Sharon's favourite mangrove tree (you can see it's roots in the top right) so more sediment catches around it.

Wonderful golden fruit from our tree. After squirrel tax, there was only one seed for me, and one seed for Sharon. A single morsel, and so very sweet.

This morning, we wake up to the first fallen durian of the season!

Our durian tree has three fruits this year (don't be mean; it survived a lightning strike and a collapse), and I just know that everybody in the neighbourhood, human or not, is watching.

My eternal war with the bougainvillea in our garden continues.

I chopped it down bare woody stems last week, and took a saw to some of the remaining branches two days ago. It is already returning.

Recently Sharon and I have been coming here to clear the grass around the stump, dig up the gods, retrieve the bottles we'd arranged around the tree years ago.

There is a young ketapang sapling growing next to the stump. Who knows. Maybe she will grow again.
