On the left it is headed “Breaking News” and shows three news headlines: ‘Hope for Long Covid patients: Exercises revealed to help recovery!", “Group physical and mental health rehab improves long covid quality of life!" and “Online rehab program proves beneficial for Long Covid!". On the right it is headed ‘The Facts’ under which it reads: “The study was based only on people who had been hospitalised for acute Covid-19, 34% of whom had been in ICU/HDU - a cohort with significant differences to those with Long Covid who were not admitted to hospital. • Those for whom exercise was contraindicated were excluded from the study. • In the intervention arm of the study: - nearly 17% (50) of participants withdrew from just the intervention. - Less than half (141) of participants fully adhered to it. - After 6 months, in comparison to 3 months ago, 15% (32) felt much better and 30% (65) felt somewhat better BUT 4% (9) felt much worse and 13% (29) felt somewhat worse.
🚨Headlines on the REGAIN Study do not reflect the full story. Whilst some participants improved, media headlines can be misleading by generalising #LongCovid.
