Continuing from yesterday's answer...
After exiting a heterosexual monogamous marriage, I landed in a lesbian monogamous marriage. We were fooling around one day & I said, "What if I miss ๐, though?" She didn't respond well. I realized I was denying parts of myself[ves]... AGAIN. โฌ๏ธ
Iโm at the stage where all characters turn out some flavor of queer the deeper I dig into their backstory. Iโm fond of casual representation and itโs not a big deal for anybody, but that means the worldbuilding around must make sense. #LoreOutLoud
#LoreOutLoud In Aloe, there is a yearly remembrance on October 15th throughout the Night Garden called The Grieving. It's a group funerary service honoring those that died on the Garden Paths. Acanthus makes sure it's honored every year with a ceremony.
The date is a significant one for me, โ

All of the above! Most of my WIPs are about queer women navigating the world, queer relationships. Sometimes they are in gay-only spaces. In most instances, they dare to be who they are and love who they do proudly (though sometimes that's hard). ๐งตโฌ๏ธ

Our stories contain queer main characters, queer side characters, and queer themes. We are both queer, and that influences how and what and who we write.

I've attempted to get into a routine of writing first thing in the morning. Getting coffee/tea, settling on the couch with the doggo, and then writing is soothing to me. It's a bit of a struggle on work days, which is frustrating to me. But I try.

The novel I plan on writing will be a re-telling of the Greek myth featuring Persephone, Hades, & Demeter. I'd like to focus on the mother/daughter relationship more than husband/wife. I'd like it to illuminate how mothers who are fearful of men can inadvertently push their daughters โฌ๏ธ
instead that love is personal, and private, and you shouldn't need to tell everyone everything for them to understand who you are inside. They can just listen and observe. #LoreOutLoud
I don't specifically write queer stories, even though, after four books I've only had one straight protag. I write more about people figuring out their identities and what makes them unique. I don't focus much hot times, more about connections between people.

I write best when Iโm supposed to be doing something else, which is why I do almost all of my writing on my phone.

It took some time, but I eventually figured out that writing from 2โ6pm with muffled music makes me unstoppable, so I've learned not to fight it. With a little YouTube, I'm knocking out planned word counts & tackling grammatical abominations

Our system knows nothing productive gets done after 3 P.M. Starting BEFORE that time & still working on it after that time... cool. But, getting started after that? Not gonna happen. So, we plan our days around that. Also, creating on 'adulting' days... not possible.
#LoreOutLoud I think I write best in the morning or late evening. I do most of my writing when I first wake up, before my day starts, or after dinner when I've had a chance to relax after a day of work.
First thing in the morning before life starts to get in the way. Iโve tried to write at other times but Iโm never as consistently productive as in the morning.

#LoreOutLoud There's a couple of situations where I write best. The first is my go-to: late afternoon and evening, at my pc, uninterrupted by anything and anyone, and listening to the carefully curated playlists for my works. It's hard to stick to this in a house with a partner and an (1/2)

I have embraced the adhd gremlin! I used to try to have a *process* but now I donโt need to. I am a gremlin! Deal with it!
#loreoutloud
#LoreOutLoud I think I wrote stories before even learning to manually write (thank you, very old computer). The earliest I remember was maaaybe the one with the dictionary who got whumped and starved before making its daring escape and ran away happily on the Web. I was 4-year-old, more or less.
#LoreOutLoud I'm actually dedicated. Before, when I was younger, I used to just write for fun and never stuck with anything through to the end. Now I write to complete, to finish my stories.
#LoreOutLoud I want to tell the stories that I want to read--I want to put something out there into the world that feels meaningful and real and has an impact on someone. It makes me quite sad if my stories don't touch people, so I always have a drive to pour my passion into my works.
I'm late, but this sounds fun! I don't remember the exact moment, but I can say that it started in primary school! I always really enjoyed creative writing sessions, it was my favourite lesson in school. And I always wanted to show off what I could create. #LoreOutLoud
Just like that: a writer. It's a foundational part of who I am. I don't "write", I *am* a writer. I have stories to tell.

The need to do something with everything in my (Holfelder) head is what pulls me to put words to paper. Even if the words on the page don't match what's in my head, it's a way of processing thru what's up there. My characters end up with mental health arcs that way.
#LoreOutLoud #WriteSky
It's been a gradual realization these past 8 years, since I (Holfelder) picked back up & started writing fanfic. I've slowly come to understand that I am a storyteller, an entertainer via written word. I've always been that way, and I'm learning to own it.

#LoreOutLoud I'm a published author, with more on the way. :) It's as simple, as complicated, and as joyful as that.
#LoreOutLoud #WriteSky
I can safely say I'm a 'budding author'. We put our #memoir on Ko-Fi last year. Glad we did. Not pleased with the completed project, however. Because I can see how it isn't actually complete. Writing #blogs for @4islesmagicshop.bsky.social is helping me sort through shit. โฌ๏ธ
I don't know #LoreOutLoud, but I'm certainly not a baby author any more
I'm capable of pace and can recognise bogging down, I can tell not show when I need to, I see the problem with pantsing my WIP, and I'm doing my best writing to date
