From page 93 of The Lupus Encyclopedia written by Donald E Thomas jr, md, FACE, FACR, underlined in blue and highlighted in yellow, States "although it is rare, some ANA negative SLE patients are anti-ssa-positive. If someone is thought to have SLE, but their ANA is negative, doctors should check for anti-ssa."
A picture of the cover of the lupus encyclopedia by Dr Donald e. Thomas Jr, md. At the top it says a John Hopkins press health book in white text with the blue banner in the background, and beneath it with a background from a magenta to purple hue gradient that ends up having these beautiful cute little white and purple butterflies as little cutouts, it states the lupus encyclopedia in I'm assuming times New Roman font. It has the seal of approval from the Lupus foundation of America as this book is a comprehensive, and this is on the cover beneath the cute purple butterflies, a comprehensive guide for patients and healthcare providers.
I feel so vindicated. I've been in a #lupusflare and I have so much stuff wrong with me right now, and I will be filing that report against the doctor who told me I did not have #SLE after she dismissed me after I even had a diagnosis, and she stated she didn't even know what an ELISA test was. 🧵
