A view down the long lavatorium in the cloister of Gloucester Cathedral. A shelf plus basin in front of it extends the complete length towards a stained glass window at the end. The ceiling is elaborately carved in a series of interlinking fan-vaulted arches. On the right, seven pairs of stained glass windows can be seen, each one with three lights.
Lavatorium in Gloucester Cathedral has 14th C origins as facilities for monks in earlier abbey to wash.
The long evocative stretch of #SundayStonework on north of cloisters features elaborately wonderful #MarchArches + later #StainedGlassSunday.
And Harry Potter + Half Blood Prince has a scene here.
