"RegEx Lab" for MacOS and iOS is a simple tester and library tool similar to #RegexBuddy and the #memoQ Regex Assistant. Its simple import/export text format can be easily interconverted with the exchange formats for those other tools.

Hidden WYSIWYG tags for MS Office files in #memoQ:
<!b>word</!b> bold

Use Find or Find & Replace dialogs in memoQ in #regex mode w/ search enabled in tags to access the hidden formats.

In #regex mode, #memoQ Find & Replace can access hidden WYSIWYG format tags. A quick example to change bold text to italics:
Find: <(.+?)b
Replace: <$1i
The checkbox "Search within tags as well" must be marked.

Email from an agency to "seriously encourage" translators to use memoQ's desktop version rather than the web version, followed by a list of features that don't work well in the web version. But I guess #memoQ knows better what their clients want... 🤷♀️
Here's the companion article for my recently published memoQ #Regex Assistant to #RegexBuddy article. It describes how to send regexes & test data from RegexBuddy to #memoQ. And maybe why you should bother with that.

The one-record *.rbl library from RegexBuddy converted to memoQ Regex Assistant XML format (result of the XSLT)
Now I've got the XSLT for converting #RegexBuddy libraries to the #memoQ Regex Assistant library format, taking along any test data as well. This should be useful to some people for migrating regular expressions to use in other #translation environments. #xl8
Here's how to move your #memoQ #Regex Assistant solution libraries to #RegexBuddy (Paul Filkin's favorite tool):

#memoQ clearly doesn’t value its freelancer client base. I use MQ in a single desktop configuration with all plug-ins etc switched off and settings tailored to the way I work - solo. A web solution is of no benefit to me at all and far less secure.
A suggestion for improving information saved in the #memoQ Regex Assistant library, and a bit of troubling news from Hungary....

A note from memoQ announcing their desktop software as a dead end.
Today from the #memoQ Users' Ideas Portal. I'll comment another day after my hand is out of the cast....
Marianna Nagy Dear all, We appreciate your valuable suggestions and feedback on improving memoQ. Your insights help us shape the future of our platform, and we are grateful for your continued support. Let me share an update regarding our development priorities: While we will continue maintaining our desktop application, we will no longer be introducing new features for it. Our focus is shifting towards enhancing our web-based platform. Our resources will be dedicated to developing and improving the web interface to provide a more seamless and feature-rich experience. Over time, we will gradually migrate key desktop functionalities to the web, ensuring an even better user experience. Some new features will be exclusively available on the web platform. In the long run, we remain committed to ensuring that users who do not have their own servers can also benefit from our improved web solutions. The specific feature you requested will soon be available on the brand-new memoQ editor.
Not sure what to think about this announcement by #memoQ. I prefer to have my texts, TMs, and term bases on my own computer, not on a web-based platform (that could be used to feed MT tools). And I prefer not be dependent on an internet connection or on browsers that may not always be compatible.
Appeasing the Old Gods to make #memoQ #regex work for monetary expressions.

#memoQ users: if you're on the memoQ Ideas Portal (ideas.memoq.com), please look for PUBL-I-1205 and support the suggestion (upvote). This is for expanding the visible representation of non-printing and invisible (zero-width) characters that cause so many problems in some translation work.
