A wolf-like animal, Pachyaena intermedia, pursues the small, hippo-like dinoceratan, Bathyopsis, through the forest. P. intermedia has its mouth opened wide in an attempt to bite at the neck of Bathyopsis. Bathyopsis has several wounds already from its pursuer.
A half-rotten, chewed up carcass of a dead Protitanotherium brontothere lies on its side in the shallows of a lake. Three wolf-like animals, Harpagolestes koreanicus, scavenge the carcass. One is reaching across the corpse's ribcage to eat at the innards, a second beast is pulling a morsel out of the eyesocket, and a third is raising its snout in frustration at the other two.
A large, bear-sized animal, Harpagolestes uintensis, is casually strolling in front of a copse of shaggy palm trees. The animal has shaggy, spotted fur, and its mouth is opened to reveal large teeth. The ground is covered in decaying palm frond fragments. In the foreground is the skull of an Archaeotherium entelodont: the eyesocket has a mouse-like creature peeking out of it.
Hessolestes ultima, a large, wolf-like animal, lies on the edge of a bluff. The animal has its fanged mouth open, its tongue hanging out as it pants in the hot, tropical air. The bluff isn't that tall, as a brontothere is walking unperturbed beneath Hessolestes.
