Auf einem sehr dünnen Ästchen (Durchmesser 0.5 cm) haben sich leuchtend gelbe Flechten der Art Xanthoria parietina angesiedelt. Sie wurden an einem trüben Tag vor dem Hintergrund einer schwarzen Glasscherbe fotografiert. Das Bild wurde nur zugeschnitten, aber nicht weiter bearbeitet.
Auf einer Birke mit verzweigtem Stamm haben sich Moose der Art Rhytidiadelphus squarrosus niedergelassen. Das Foto zeigt einige ihrer braunen Fruchtkörper, die Cellulose enthalten und rote Akzente aufweisen, auf dünnen braunroten Stielen stecken und von Wassertropfen umhüllt sind.

In a coniferous forest, a moss cushion has grown, consisting of two moss species: common haircap moss (Polytrichum commune) and Pohlia nutans. The Polytrichum has fruiting bodies (I'm not sure if that's the right term) that resemble colourful spears: a shaft red at the bottom and green at the top, and a creamy-white, hairy tip.
