I smiled because I read #mushsky and wondered. My eyes went immediately to reading #mushersky, but I like the idea of the mushrooms enthusiasts being musher and sled dog enthusiasts too. ;-)

What do you guys do with LC plates? Do you wait a few days right-side up and then flip? Wait for it to dry a bit? With Agar transfers I just store upside down directly after inoculation. How would you store this? 🍄 #mycology #mycologist #mushrooms #mushsky #mushroomsky #FungiFriends

#Mushsky mushroom spam from autumn walks.

A four panel comic with each panel showing a different kind of mushroom and a related joke. The first panel shows a Devils Finger mushroom which looks red with tentacles coming out of it. It’s speaking to three flies and has an apologetic expression. One of the flies says “so, you’re not really a corpse?” The mushroom replies with “I’m sorry, I need you to spread my spores. I hope we can still be friends.” Another fly says “bro…” The joke is that Devils Fingers smell like rotting flesh to attract flies to spread its spores out. In the second panel you have a small forest scene with a decaying trunk of a tree in the foreground and its stump in the background. On the decaying log, there is a smattering of small yellow circles. These are Yellow Fairy Cups which grow on decaying wood and stumps. One of the cups asks “What’re you having for dinner tonight, Fred?” And another cup, presumably Fred, answers with “I don’t know, whatever (pause) is lying around!” And the mushrooms around them on the log laugh. The joke is because they grow in decaying wood on the forest floor. The third panel features a Wood Blewit looking at the camera with a man eyebrow raised. It says “Like what you see?” The joke is because it has “nuda” in its Latin name and so this Wood Blewit is being saucy! The last panel features three Muscat truffles, a mom and dad and a child. The child is crying, saying “the other truffles said I was inferior!” The mother truffle replies with “you still bring flavor to the table, dear.” The joke is that Muscat truffles are viewed as inferior in taste to other truffles in Europe, but are still flavorful!
