Nettie LeCourt was my idea of what a 1920s/30s tennis player would be like. She is totally made from fabric, apart from her facial features, shoes and racquet, and is set against a paper background featuring grass and daisies. She is wearing a white pleated skirt with red trim, a white short-sleeved top under a sleeveless red pullover with the same red trim at the neckline, which is also used for a headband. The fingers are shorter than I would have liked as they are extremely small, and kept fraying. The whole picture is just 4" tall
Courtney Tennison is dressed in a white shirt and trousers, with black shoes, a black belt, and a black & white striped tie. He is holding a racquet and tennis ball, and looks very dapper with his centrally-parted black hair and black moustache. He is set against the same background paper as Nettie LeCourt. Again, everything is fabric apart from his hair, eyes, shoes, belt and racquet
Lorna Tennys is from the Edwardian era, and is wearing a white lace-trimmed dress with a pink sash belt, brown boots, and a brown and pink hat. She is set against paper featuring grass with buttercups. The only things not made from fabric are her eyes, mouth, boots and racquet.
Finally able to start catching up with #JuliArty. As it's #Wimbledon fortnight here in the UK, I give you #game set & match! These three tennis players are mixed media (mostly fabric) collage cards, with pun-influenced names - Nettie LeCourt, Courtney Tennison & Lorna Tennys #myowndesign #cards
