A small white dog is in a grey vessel (it's an upside-down lampshade), and has silver spoon handles for oars. The sky is pale blue and the sea is various shades of blue. The finished picture is set in a square-aperture red card, which picks up the red fez worn by the dog. All the items were cut out from old magazines.

As soon as I saw this little puppy's face, I knew exactly what picture I wanted to make. Photo shows a brown, black and white puppy wearing a cream hat with a black band. He is sitting in an upturned glass lampshade, in the sea. I wanted to give the impression of it being the end of the day, so chose a sky with the setting sun, which is repeated in the colour of the sea. All items were cut out from old magazines, and placed in a white oval-aperture card.

It's been quite stormy here today, with torrential rain for a while, so I thought this paper collage card was appropriate. All the pieces were cut out from old magazines. #papercollage #greetingscard #handmade #oldmagazines #savedfromlandfill

For this dog, I chose a black and grey tweed coat, plus a black knitted hat with a brown pompom. The brim of the hat is resting just above the eye, and the nose is a very small pale blue bead.

The tweed for this dog is teal, brown and orange whilst the knitted hat is grey with a brown pompom. Again, the nose is a very small dark green bead. The brim of the hat is above the eye giving this dog a totally different character to the previous dog.

For obvious reasons, this one is a Scottie Dog, with a blue tartan coat and a blue and red hat known as a Balmoral Bonnet. His nose was a very small red bead

This is a section of the original wrapping paper, but I wasn't keen on their 'coats' so gave each dog a different one plus a matching had, cut out from old magazines

For #InternationalDogDay here are a few paper collage cards. I used a variety of mauve, pink and yellow roses to create this card, and chose a mauve card to complement these colours.

For #day2 of #smArtist, my #national flower would have to be the English rose. For this #wovenpaper card, I used a variety of rose pictures, which were cut out of old gardening catalogues. Ten strips of the pictures were then interwoven to create the card #reuse #savedfromlandfill #ilovecrafting

A series of five-by-five strips are interwoven. Most of the strips are magenta but four near the centre are purple, complementing the card colour.

A fabric peg bag made from a pale teal material which has sprays of pink flowers and pale brown leaves. There is a strip of pale brown lace across the bag for decoration, plus a dark teal button at each end of the opening. A piece of wooden dowelling is encased in the material at the top, and a metal hanger has been screwed in for hanging purposes. The bag is resting on a plain white tray cloth with a hand-crocheted cotton border, made by my late mother

The sun is setting in the sky, giving it a gold appearance, and this is reflected in the sea. I also found water which had the same colours as the puppy. The head of a tan coloured, grumpy-looking cat, is sitting in a pink mug with a Nice biscuit motif, and the background is a piece of white material with sprays of tan coloured foliage. For anyone who doesn't live in the UK, Nice (sometimes pronounced niece) biscuits are thought to have been named after the French city, to evoke a sense of elegance and sophistication, but I had the feeling that the cat wouldn't want to be known as 'nice'!

The sky is pale blue and slightly cloudy, and there is a seagull flying overhead. The colour of the sea reflects the fur of the cat, and is a bit choppy so hope the craft and cat stayed safe! Using a paper punch for the butterflies, there are three rows of three, each containing a 'white' place name, attached to a square red card. I used old maps which would have been thrown away - SUCH a waste!!

Nine paper hearts, each showing a double-buttoned cuff which, to me, looked like eyes. The curved edge of the cuff made the nose, and where the sleeve was laid against the shirt (in the catalogue), it resembled a bit of a grimace. And if you're 'of a certain age', you might remember a radio programme in the UK, featuring Ron & Eth Glum :-)

When maps or atlases become out-of-date, I keep them to reuse for things like this card. There are nine punched-out butterfly shapes, each one focusing on a place which has an animal in its name. From top left going right, the places are Foxhole, Badger, Deerhurst, Bearwood, Otter Ferry, Boarhunt, Hare Street, Beaver Green and Wolf's Castle.

'Countdown Conundrum' has punched-out butterfly shapes using places with numbers in their name, starting from nine (top left) and ending with one (bottom right). The places are Ninebanks, Eight Ash Green, Seven Wells, Sixhills, Fivehead, Four Crosses, Three Crosses, Two Dales and Onecote
