I used a variety of mauve, pink and yellow roses to create this card, and chose a mauve card to complement these colours.

This was made from pale lavender-coloured felt, with an orange and dark mauve appliqued pansy secured with an orange button, and a mauve ribbon hanging loop. Buttonhole stitch was used to secure the pansy, and sew the two heart-shaped pieces of felt together for the bag. The vintage plate was part of a tea-set inherited from my late mother-in-law.

Using a paper punch for the butterflies, there are three rows of three, each containing a 'white' place name, attached to a square red card. I used old maps which would have been thrown away - SUCH a waste!!

Today's #acoloradAyPRIL theme of #black almost stumped me, until I remembered this little #greetingscard. Each dog was cut out from the wrapping paper, then given a new coat & nose; the placement of the hat gave each dog its own character! #papercollage #endlesspossibilities #ilovecrafting

Blue and white dotted/striped fabric was used for the body, plus red bias binding to join the two sides. In the centre, a cupcake was made from dark blue and red/green flowered fabric, with red fabric for the icing. It was topped with a green button picking out the green leaves of the cupcake fabric. White buttonhole stitch was used to applique the cupcake to the background fabric.

The same fabric was used for both the carrier bag holder and the cupcake on the tea-cosy. It was elasticated around the bottom to prevent bags from falling out, but the top was more open, to accept new bags. The hanging loop was made from 1" wide white tape

Two very large (25mm size) knitting needles plus two very small (number 13) knitting needles on a vintage embroidered tray cloth. Pre-metrification needles were known by numbers, and number 13 is the equivalent of 2.25mm today

To turn the original parsnip into different characters, I scoured my stash of old magazines for suitable clothing etc

The original parsnip already had two 'legs' & I attached a couple of tendrils for arms, a small potato for the head & the top of a courgette for hair/hat. And the legs were just crying out for a pair of Wellingtons!
