A glass false front covers the facade of a condo tower, on it is etched the outline of the facade of the firehouse that once stood here, better known later as the St. Charles Street Tavern.

The remnants of the St. Charles Tavern clock tower is dwarfed by the condo tower into which it has been incorporated.

A matter of erasure: being an engine house isn’t the cultural significance of this structure. I see no reference to it being an anchor of the LGBTQ+ community or the site of the drag parades that may have evolved into Toronto’s Pride Day.

While testing out my #olympuspens film camera on #ilfprdhp5 I began to take two shots with changes in aperture/shutter speed or composition, and liked the diptych/triptych they made. Shot more on my #olympuspenft with #fuji400 and will be making a zine of my favorites after a couple more rolls
