A humpback whale's fluke submerges into the calm waters off of Lagoon Island, Antarctica. The chiselled, snow-capped landscape spans the back of the frame. There's a research station on the left side on the black rocks. This is a humpback a true whale as it is vegan. Willy was an Orca, a member of the dolphin family which are carnivorous. A tall slender hawk is perched atop a post on a barbed wire fence (an old rusted strand with a newer strand above) with a blurred field of scrub and prairie grasses in the background. The hawk has a brown back with white spots and a white belly with brown streaks. The head is brown with a white neck and a yellow eye. The tail is wide and long and has thick bands of dark brown alternating with a medium brown, giving it a striped appearance. The legs and feet are yellow with black talons.

Standing next to a wooden dock, looking out onto the calm waters of the New River. The lush rainforest reflects on the water with vivid green hues. We will travel up the river from Orange Walk to Lamanai (โSubmerged Crocodileโ) in a very small boat, a 2-hour meander to get to the ruins: Detouring to every interesting bird/plant/animal the guide spots along the way -- he had amazing vision! Along the way we will endure huge wakes delivered by the overpowered speed boats blasting by with tours from the cruise ships. No regard for the lush, but delicate ecosystems clinging to the river banks. By the time we arrive at the Lamanai Lagoon dock they will be leaving the site โฆtalk about a drive-by!
