A male Red Mason Bee feeds from the pink blossom of a crab apple tree. This is a small Solitary bee, with bands of orangey-red hair on his brown abdomen, and a thin pile of buff hair over his dark thorax. His head is black. He is slightly less than 1cm long, and is slim and fast-moving.
