HOW TO BRAINWASH YOURSELF I'm pounding the roof of hell with hands that once held the flesh of an absurdist god. My phone assures me this is the only correct thing to do right now while also ordering me to give my life to a satellite, to make myself ill so I can feel the elation of health if I survive. I'm endlessly regaled by the uselessness of old pictures that are scattered across my Facebook page as if they were ashes from the last cigarette I ever smoked. I like to think I'm better now despite how my eyes are drowning in my mind's clueless urges; I know they'll reach for air someday.
I think I really like this one! It was very cathartic to write.

Our pact seems to have failed
To redact when Helen regaled
A fact: that all beauty paled
In exact comparison availed
With no tact, words sailed
To Olympus intact; Aphrodite wailed
So wracked, & feeling assailed
She exacted revenge, yet Ares prevailed

Regaled (2/2 emoetry) A girl grew obstinately older, Lavishly locked in holiday halls, gaudily gilded but barely broader Than the dancing dirt of neighboring neanderthals. Claustrophobically curious, she slipped away To the festive field the commoners celebrate. Immediately immersed sans doom or dismay She sought pagan priests and watched men mutate. The tired turned excessively ecstatic, Cautious chastity soon shed with a sigh. Raucously regaled with tales thematic and tragic, While witnessing the languished lie as lovers, hearing horses clomp and cry. Though included she intuited she had intruded. Expediant exit, heading home to royally recover, As her voyeuristic voyage covertly concluded.
The tide is out at yet another wild West Coast beach here in NZ. I didn't have this one labelled so I believe it's Anawhata Beach. So many beaches, so little time (and proper photo organisation LOL). The clouds are scattered in the sky. Hints of blue peep through the cloud deck. With the low tide, larger clumps of rock formations on the darker sands are exposed. In the distance, the sloping hills of the Waitakere Ranges can be seen as they meet and melt into the Tasman Sea. They are covered with a dense green duvet of natural trees and shrubs. ...and my heart found peace and healing this day...
